The Tale
Baelic grew up wandering in the Feywilds, spirited away as a child by a trickster Fey as he was running away from home. He was snuck through a portal in the woods one twilight evening and never returned. As he grew, he began to understand the upside-down and twisted nature of these woods very well and didn't learn how to escape them without discovering a few tricks of his own.
Even though he left the Feywilds as an adult, he never gave up thinking about it and the allure of its power, wondering if he would ever one day return willingly. He would then go on to travel the material plane in search of the next great thrill or excitement, often enticed by powerful dark forces or making clever deals with ancient entities. One such discovery led him to binding into a deal with a cursed dagger, exchanging a piece of his soul for dangerous magic. In the midst of all this adventure, he also fell in love.
Thus, Baelic was consumed by his two great passions. His love for his patient sweetheart, and his lust for growing strength and connection again to his strange past in the Feywilds. The cursed dagger demanded more of his soul than he bargained for and nearly destroyed him when he attempted to break free. But his lover saved him, giving up her spirit instead, now trapped eternally into the dagger.
Just like the Feywilds, Baelic's memory of her grows weaker every year. But still, he seeks her out and sees her in every living thing. And when the dagger speaks to him in the night, asking him to fall prey to darkness, it is her voice now that he hears.
How to spot him
You spot Baelic instantly, one foot brashly placed on the Tavern chair as he teases a patron at the table, grinning like a devil and tucking a white rose behind the patron's ear.
